Seaton Marshes Wetlands Centre – Education Rooms – An Off-grid PV system

Case Study

Client: Seaton Marshes Wetlands Centre

The new wetlands education centre at Seaton marshes required a small amount of electrical energy to run lights and sockets in the summer when educational classes are run. Initially the building pictured, right, was the only one at the site. Here we installed six PV modules and the associated equipment along with low energy lighting and socket circuits.

A few months later a second building was added to the site requiring power of its own. We were asked to upgrade the system to power the second building; this was done by mirroring the system installed on the original building.

Due to the low energy demanded by the site these systems provide the required energy for almost all of the year with the generator only used during the depths of December and January.
