Client: National trust Coleton Barton Farm

After the Installation at Coleton Fishacre shop and café the National Trust approached us about one of their tenanted working farms near the Fishacre site.

With several south facing barns which were suitable, our system size was defined by the maximum output that the distribution network operator would allow. This turned out to be a maximum size PV array size of 50kWp.

The installation is of advantage to the National Trust as it offsets some of their energy usage elsewhere and it also lowers the energy costs to the tenant of the farm giving a twofold advantage in both finance and environmental aspects.

It is predicted that the systems would output 47.1MWh/annum.

The system arrangement

The system consists of 198 Suntech 240Wp modules split into three groups of 66 modules each feeding a 15kW SMA Sunny Tri-power inverter. This then is connected to the sites three phase electricity supply through a total generation meter which clocks up the units generated by the system.
